Line-up
The album's third, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet style of the previous albums. It was a more ferocious, constant effort with an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. The edgier sound of Turn Back reflected the growth of the band. Bobby Kimball's growing ability to play was evident in the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard playing was also more sophisticated, sharper, and less derivative on earlier efforts.
After touring to promote the album, the group recorded a live concert in Amsterdam that was released as a set of two CDs titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
